DG Michael’s July report

DG Michael and Carole Boldero

Dear Fellow Lions, Lionesses, Leos and Partners,

So as we start our new Lions year and while you are reading this, Lion Carole and I will be experiencing the sights and sounds of our 100th International Convention in Chicago. If the publicity is anything to go on I think we are in for a treat, especially as the final day is on the 4th of July, “Independence Day”. We look forward to seeing you all upon our
return at the Welcome Home on Sunday the 16th of July at Raggalds Bar and Restaurant in Queensbury.

Last month I paid tribute to our Immediate Past District Governor Lion David McDowell, who I was pleased to see was awarded a Melvin Jones Fellowship by his own Club, Otley Lions, at their changeover barbeque last Sunday. Congratulations David it is richly deserved.

Looking back to the past month may I thank and congratulate all of you who took part in the “Feeding the Hungry” event at the Humber Bridge, over 20,000 cans were placed by District 105C and 105E and, although I could not be there on the day because of work, the photographs and feedback showed it was a great success. Special thanks must go to Lions Margaret and Bryan Riley along with Lion Elaine Kitchen from “E” for organising a brilliant day.
My diary for this next year is already starting to fill up and Lion Carole and I intend to visit every club in the District. I will be contacting Club Presidents and Secretary’s in the next couple of weeks to arrange a visit. We are also keen to see your Clubs service activities and maybe join in your socials, so please get in touch as soon as possible if you would like us to come along. You will be able to follow our adventures on Facebook.

Finally I wish you every success for the forthcoming year ahead and please use my theme:

“Have the Courage to Encourage”

You may be surprised where it will take you!

Lion Michael Boldero
District Governor 105C
