We are fast approaching the 100th year of Lionism since Melvin Jones started our wonderful organisation in Chicago in 1917, although as you know we have been working towards our targets for this amazing feat for some time now.
We have had successful events at Hornsea Carnival, Bridlington Carnival and Lion Day at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster since my last report, and at each event we had the opportunity to promote Lionism and tell the general public what we all do. The feedback was also very informative and useful.
Currently we are working frantically to create the “Growing with Lions Garden” for the Harrogate Autumn Flower Show where it is anticipated that there will be in excess of 35,000 people visiting the show over the three days from 16th to 18th September.
What an opportunity to once again promote Lions and increase our membership substantially. We will try very hard!!!
Please continue to register all your Centennial activities on My LCI so that they all get counted in the targets as I do know that there are many activities taking place throughout the District.
Thank you once again for your support.
