Withernsea & District Lions Club has officially opened its new premises in the town, giving customers a bigger and brighter showroom.

The old premises on North Queen Street were getting very cramped and short of room for both stock and customers; however the new shop offers bigger shelf space and more room for customers.

The shop, directly opposite the Post Office in Central Queen Street was officially opened by Lion President Anne Blake.

Prior to the opening there was already a large queue of customers waiting to grab some bargains. Mrs Blake said “This is a great step forward for the Lions. We have a new shop staffed by a willing band of loyal helpers and this will be of great benefit to people in the area.”

The Lions welcome any donations of articles for sale in the shop and these can be dropped off during opening hours, which are Monday to Saturday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Thanks to the hard work of our shop manager, support of the local community and group of volunteers, the Lions Shop continues to trade successfully and income is used to support the work of Withernsea and District Lions within the local community and internationally.
