On Tuesday 16th June 2015, at 9:00 am, we loaded up 5 coaches of pensioners from our local areas of Hedon, Preston, Paul, Burstwick and Thorngumbald, it was a very warm, bright and sunny day, just what we had all hoped for when the plans were made, way back in February. Our first stop was at the delightfull village of Thornton le Dale in North Yorkshire, where the local shops were only too pleased to supply many of us with Teas and ice creams! after a stop of around 1 hour we moved on to our destination of Scarborough, and, although the weather changed a little when the “sea mist” rolled in, it thankfully remained dry, following our 3 hour stay, we all managed to return to the coaches on time at 4:00 pm, getting home around 6:30.
A very enjoyable and successful day out was achieved, the scenery on the outward journey was wonderful, with endless sun highlighting our beautifulcountryside! Although it appeared that a few where feeling a little weary when we arrived home, I think, and hope “A good time was had by all!”
