Derwent Lions Club is a registered charitable incorporated organisation no. 1174398. Our passion is to help people in need, within our community and beyond.
We are part of Lions Clubs International and operate around the villages to the East and South of York. These include Elvington, Low and High Catton, Deighton, Dunnington, Elvington, Escrick, Fulford, Heslington, Melbourne, Newton on Derwent, Naburn, Seaton Ross, Stamford Bridge, Sutton on Derwent, Thorganby and Wheldrake.
Our members come from all walks of life but who are like minded people who give their time and expertise freely for the benefit of others. We are supported by enthusiastic volunteers and supporters, and by the people within our community who give most generously when we knock on their door!
Fun and team spirit is very much important to us and we enjoy informal and formal social events together and with other clubs in the area. We normally meet at 8pm on the 4th Monday of each month at the Grey Horse in Elvington, but this can vary to meet the needs of our programme.
