Ok folks it's that time of year again and The Lions are collecting this time specifically for Kirkwood Hospice. Huge thanks go out to both Holmebuild and Rapid Hire for displaying our Easter eggs this year. A pound a go and all proceeds go to Kirkwood. The poster is A4 size so these Thornton chocolate Easter eggs are quite big, for those chocoholics out there. Just pop in the Honley branches and see their eggs on the counter.

All of the following businesses are also supporting the cause and eggs can be seen there if you're passing.

• Foresters Arms
• Algy Arms
• Boot & Shoe Inn
• Elephant & Castle
• The Nook
• The Old Bridge Inn
• Postcard Inn
• Royal Oak
• Shoulder of Mutton
• Travellers Rest
• Waggon & Horses
• Gerry’s @ Café 33
• Clothiers Arms, Netherthong
• Cricketers Arms
• Red Lion Inn
• Wooldale Arms
• Meltham Liberal Club
• Sands House
• Stumble Inn
• Clothiers Arms, Stocksmoor
• Jacobs Well Inn
• Rose & Crown
• Ford Inn

A huge thank you to Dave and the team at Rapid hire, 4 and a half days and they have completely sold out. This must be some kind of record I reckon. Thanks also to the local businesses and the good folk of Honley who have supported this cause again his year.

Really happy to be able to present a £500 cheque to "Meltham Walkers are Welcome" so that bird and bat boxes can be made for the Meltham Pleasure Gardens. A smiling Lion President, Paul Chadaway makes the presentation during a Meltham Walkers social event. Meltham Walkers are Welcome were successful in securing the donation after attending our recent open evening. ...

Holmfirth and Meltham Lions

Hey everybody - We had a great evening in Brambles Bar, Holmfirth, at the beginning of February when a lot of local community organizations came and met with us. Each of them presented their current projects and ambitions, and then each made a pitch for some of the charity money that we have raised from the people who live in the Holme Valley and surrounding areas. The generosity of this community is fantastic and thank you to everybody who has donated to our activities. It's amazing just how many local community organizations there are in our area, all carrying out great work for the benefit to all parts of our community. We are delighted to report that we have been able to support many of those attending on the evening by way of donations to their causes. The attached list shows where we have been able to help, but it doesn't stop here though as we continue to arrange events and activities to raise more funds so that we can carry on helping where we can. If you think that you would like to be involved in the voluntary and satisfying work that the amazing organization of The Lions does, then please contact us, we would love to hear from you. ...
